Sometimes I struggle with writing updates because I don’t know how much information to give. While not everybody needs to know all of the details I know that I can’t be completely vague. I also struggle with people seeing that I am broken. But truly I am.

Christ had saved me from the pit and set me on The Solid Rock. My only hope is Jesus and I have nothing apart from Him!

With all that being said many things in my life have changed in the past month/2 months.

I met Caleb’s family

After the tour with Term 6 Caleb and I flew up to Oregon and spent a week with his family. I met almost everybody, one brother was unable to come at the time. And I had a great time getting to know everybody. During my time in Oregon I was stuck in Hebrews chapter 11. What most people call the “Hall of Faith.” The Lord was showing me Faith in a new way and teaching me more about faith. And it turns out he had a purpose for that.

We went to the beach

We went bowling!

I forgot to take pictures with his family…

We changed the wedding date

Caleb and I had been going through a lot lately. We had just spent a month together driving around a group of younger adults and spending all of our time together. It was basically a month long road trip with 16 18-23 year olds. And then immediately after we met his family. We realized we hadn’t had a moment together without interruption from somebody. And we are thankful for this time but we decided that we needed more time together before the wedding, without the added stresses of planning the wedding. So we decided to push back the date. We haven’t decided on a new date yet. We think it is important to focus on what God is doing right now.

Caleb got Strep

The day we left Oregon to fly back to New Mexico Caleb started having some mild cold like symptoms that we believed to be allergy related. They got worse and he went to the doctor and they found out he had strep. Thankfully nobody else got it! He was out for a week. During this week however he got to spend all of his time reading and studying the Bible and falling more in love with Jesus. I spent that week serving the team that came to New Mexico to help with a building project. I got to spend my free time reading and praying as well and really coming to a deeper understanding of having faith. What it means practically to live by faith. Which is important because I was really going to need it.

We decided to move

We decided to move to Oregon for the Summer to focus on our relationship. We spent a lot of time praying and going over all of our options and, as a couple, decided that this was the best option for us. So we loaded up everything in my car and took a week-long road trip up to Oregon. On the way we got to stop at several places and spend time with friends and family. I got to meet one of Caleb’s best friends, Caleb got to meet one of my best friends. We got to stop by Calvary Chapel Bible College. I got to see my Grampa for the first time in like 20 years! We got to see Caleb’s grandparents and uncle again. We drove over the Golden Gate Bridge and saw some Sea Lions.

We made it to Oregon where Caleb’s family lives and are staying with his parents and looking for places for us to stay for the time being.

We only got like 2 pictures at the school

**I want to be above reproach in saying that Caleb and I desire to have a pure relationship. We have set boundaries for ourselves and intend to hold to them. We believe that God desires for couples to remain pure and will help us to keep our relationship pure.**

So what about missions

We both still desire to do missions and are seeking out a few opportunities for this fall. Right now the door is open in the Congo in Africa and we are talking with the leaders there. In Haiti with the volatility of the country we are still praying. We have remained in contact with a leader there.

Our current plan is to be going somewhere in September.

Walking by faith

It has been a serious walk of faith the past few weeks. It has been really hard. I have been struggling a lot recently but God has prepared me for this. Like I had mentioned God had been teaching me what it means to live and walk by faith. We are living by faith that God will not only provide for our spiritual needs but our physical needs as well.

Recently I was reminded of a passage in Luke

“Then He said to His disciples, “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; nor about the body, what you will put on. Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing. Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap, which have neither storehouse nor barn; and God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds? And which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? If you then are not able to do the least, why are you anxious for the rest? Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. If then God so clothes the grass, which today is in the field and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will He clothe you, O you of little faith? “And do not seek what you should eat or what you should drink, nor have an anxious mind. For all these things the nations of the world seek after, and your Father knows that you need these things. But seek the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you. “Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Sell what you have and give alms; provide yourselves money bags which do not grow old, a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches nor moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”Luke‬ ‭12:22-34

God is reminding me to not worry, live by faith. I trust God to continue to guide us as we follow Him.

Prayer Requests

I shared a lot above, in everything we have chose to do, pray God would continue to guide us.

Pray we would find jobs and opportunities to help in the local church.

Pray that more solidified plans can be made for doing missions in September.

Pray for continual financial support.

Pray for our spiritual growth. That we would continue to grow deeper with the Lord. As I was writing this Caleb’s phone broke. Pray we can get a new one for him!
